Dr. J.S. Sandhu is a renowned legume breeder and currently serves as the Agriculture Commissioner in the Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India. Previously, he held the position of Assistant Director General (Seeds) at the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi.
Dr. Sandhu has made significant contributions to seed policy, including drafting guidelines for breeder seed lifting and germplasm exchange. He has overseen key research and management programs at the National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources (NBPGR), the National Centre for Plant Biotechnology (NRCPB), and the Directorate of Seed Research, Mau.
