Dr. Thilini A. Perera is a Senior Lecturer in Plant Biotechnology at the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, with over 15 years of experience in research, teaching, innovation, and scientific leadership.
Holding a PhD in Plant Biotechnology with specialization in Soil Microbiology and Biotechnology, her research spans sustainable agriculture, plant–microbe interactions, smart horticulture, hydroponics, urban food production, and digital agriculture.
Her recent work integrates biotechnology with IoT-enabled monitoring, sensor technologies, automated cultivation, and data-driven crop management to advance resource-efficient and future-ready agricultural systems.
